Rotten egg smell and leak

I bought this machine about five years ago and it cleans well but for the past three or so years it has had a really bad smell like rotten eggs. It also leaks a bit and wets the floor beneath it. My wife researched it online and regularly cleans out a little tube inside a panel on the front of the machine but it instantly smells bad again. Although it is still cleaning well our house smells and I think I will have to replace it for that reason. Im reluctant to buy the same machine again for obvious reasons so Id like to find one that still matches the dryer that I bought at the same time

Mixed feelings

Weve had this washer for 1 1/2 years now and really enjoy the jumbo load feature as a family of 5. However it has broken twice and getting it fixed has been a hassle. Weve been without a functioning washer for 2 weeks now and communication with lg and the local repair team has been frustrating and slow. I guess the more fancy features there are the more things there are to break as well.

I purchased this washer for my newly constructed home several years ago. When it came time to leave that washer behind due to the sale of my home I was extremely disappointed. Thankfully I was able to purchase this model a second time for my new home and couldnt be happier I love the extra large capacity. An oversized queen comforter fit perfectly and the special setting of Bedding eliminated the need to go to a laundry mat. The other feature that is outstanding is the push back door for the soap dispenser. Ive experienced a pull-out drawer during time in a rental house and the drawer was very awkward and the front piece frequently came off. No worries like that with this washer and its push back door feature. I highly recommend this washer - two times

Been in operation for 4 months now. Love the look and operation of them especially the WiFi notification is super handy. Only issue we have had so far is that somehow a detergent lid fell in the pre wash cup and caused the washer to overflow making a mess of our basement. Very Disappointed

Bought this unit roughly a year and 1 month ago for our new house and it has been a completely nightmare. On July 4th the unit flooded our second floor laundry and even did damage to first floor ceiling below laundry room. Spent many hours on July 5th trying to trouble shoot and figure out what problem was. There wear no leaks from supply lines or from the discharge hose. Took forever to get a repair technician out to look at it. Finally he came on July 22nd and he seemed to feel the problem was the discharge issue because it was installed 12 instead 6 into wall charge shoot. I explained to him that it only leaked while water was coming into unit and NOT when it was flowing out but he insisted it was a discharge issue. He tested it and without laundry in it it worked fine. So after he left we put a load of clothes in and it leaked all over again. We have a new home that is being severely damaged by this washing that was supposed to be their top of line machine. It is junk and because it is outside of 1 year it is out of warranty.

i bought this washing machine 3 years ago it already had to have the pump replaced. When they opeend up they saw that the pipe was also shredded because of a bad design. Years ago these machines would last 10 years. now they dont last 3. pathetic.

The washer is a bit bigger that most but if you have the space WOW is all I can say. This unit has cut down the time and effort to do laundry and cleans exceptionally well.

Died twice thats an avg of once a year

In just over 2 years that Ive had this the electrical components failed. Twice. First time was under warranty. Second time was under my credit card extended warranty. They decided to just total it and cut me a check for the max value theyd reimburse. This brand is unreliable and costs $$$$ to fix or replace. Strongly consider alternatives.

Drain pump failed before a year was up

So sad. Drain pump already failed in less than a year. We had a previous LG washer and it had the same problem. Drain pump failed. Unfortunately getting service has not gone well either. Three calls to Costco concierge multiple calls to service company call with Lg. Its not working out..service company says they MUST have a receipt with a model number and when I called Costco back about that I could not get one that day and my service call was just canceled. I had provided my receipt twice. Maybe try a different brand? Just had friends that went with another brand.. Id like all companies to be successful. Id love Lg to fix their pump buy a better quality one from a supplier so others dont have this problem and then if Lg can let me know they are using a quality pump I would be so happy to recommend them to others but cannot recommend at this point. I have tried to be accurate and honest in this review to help other buyers.

Great Washer

Ive had my LG WM9000HVA washer since 2019 and it is still awesome Ive only given it 4 stars because of a problem that it had that I just recently realized how to fix. The fabric softener dispenser had been retaining a full container of liquid after each wash cycle. I measured the electrical resistance of each of the three cold water outlet solenoids and found them all to be within spec good. I then watched the fabric dispenser through a complete wash cycle and noticed that water only trickled into it. I concluded that it must be internal mineral deposits from the water or some other obstruction that must be the problem. After replacing the cold water valve assembly the washer now performs like it is brand new I purchased the washer because of its large capacity and very good rating. The large capacity was/is important to me because prior to purchasing the washer I had to regularly go to a Laundromat only to wash King size bedding comforters mattress pads linen etc.. Aside from the inconvenience of going to the Laundromat and waiting I had to always have coins Since getting the washer those days are long gone The washer is fantastic and performs flawlessly. I religiously perform the required tub cleans and keep its exterior clean. My family uses the washer EVERY DAY. It performs without a hiccup. Well done LG.

Would not buy this style again

The door seems to be a weak point. Can see it flexing during cycles. Would be better to just have a more solid door and the controls back above rather than built in. Large load size is nice as long as paired with equally large drier. Basic cycle is so quick I was worried whether things actually got clean but they look / smell fine.

We previously had LG washer and it has lasted for 13 years. Gave it to nephew and updated to fancy washer that would not spin and still had soap in it after washing. Returned it and went with LG and love it. Quiet quick and clean. Large enough for a blanket without any issues. Large enough for a laundry mat I believe. Check measurements if space is tight.

ISSUE after ISSUE

First and foremost we LOVE Costco and their policies and procedures when handling issues. Unfortunately we have had multiple problems and issues with this EXPENSIVE washer since we bought it six months ago. We are under warranty so have had an LG service member out to the house to fix it. At this time the washer is acting up again The circuit board keeps going out the washer wont turn on it continues to beep and flash etc. It has been a nightmare and I need to do laundry for 4 boys We had a washer for 25 years and now Im dealing with a LEMON At what point can I return it or get a new washer?

We bought the washer dryer combination in 2019. Last year we started to hear a loud clunking noise as the machine goes through its wash cycle. It does this as it switches between tasks within the washing cycle. Otherwise the machine works great. It used to be a very quiet machine. Not sure what happened.

Worst washing machine ever

Ive had mine for years and its been a nightmare since Ive bought. The majority of the issues is with the control panel ie machine keeps flickering on and off wont turn on at all constantly showing error codes etc Several technicians have tried to fix the issues but the issues always come back

NIGHTMARE LGs Washer

The product has been horrific. Started having problems with this trash washer 1 1/2 years of purchase. Almost every week there were problems with this. A real nightmare. The control panel was not working properly. The machine keeps flickering on and off. The cycle would stop randomly. LG was not helpful. Common sense--their product should not break so quickly. I live alone so the machine was barely used Multiple electricians plus a washing machine repair guy confirmed it was LGs product. Im a power shopper--meaning I buy a lot of products weekly but LG is on my blacklist. VERY POOR QUALITY.
