Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.
Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Our preious Bosch dishwasher gave us 15 years of relieable service, quite good for that appliance. Various rating agencies and websites indicated that Bosch has remained a top consumer choice. Marital debate ensued about which model to go for; wife yearned for top of the line 800 model with crystal dry option and deeper, more functional top rack. Cheapskate husband leaned toward less expensive 500 model. Husband prudently opted for the 800, buying peace as well as a very quiet machine that operates well, as advertised. Bigger top rack especially brings joy. No regrets.

Bought this dishwasher to replace a 3 yr old "top of the line GE that flooded our new kitchen wood floor. This Bosch is so quiet that I have to check to make sure it is running. Dishes are really clean and even plastic gets dry. Don't buy any other dishwasher than a Bosch!

Lots of dishes to wash 11/1/2019
This was highly recommended by our repair person and replaced our previous Bosch. While it cleans, which is its main purpose, I think it has a few snags. By the way, I generate a lot of dishes with a large family and my preparing of food and from baking from scratch. I wash anything that gets touched. My dishwasher gets a lot of use.
1. The times are all slanted which is hard to wash tall items like the reusable water bottles we are all using now. The slanted tines put the water bottles (or anything else tall and narrow) on a tilt which can bump and lessens the space for dishes next to it.
2. The taller whisks, spatulas, baking spoons when placed in the utensil caddy prevent the rotating arm from spinning. I have to place them in the top middle shelf which is price real estate for my drinking glasses and bowl-like dishes. This shelf is my most used shelf.
3. If I open the washer mid cycle to add something to it, I forget to take the extra step to push "resume". It has caught frustrated a few hours later when I go to unload it and realize it it stopped when I added an item. The resume button is flush (like all the other buttons) and it is hard to know if the button registered your finger pushing it.
4. The buttons are not easy to know if you have pushed them or not. There is almost a delay in registering if you touched it.
5. There was not an written instruction manual and I still cannot get it online. There were problems with the online page and now I have forgotten to look at it and just winged it. A written manual would have really helped especially for the future when error codes come up. I referred to my troublesome previous Bosch many times to alter the amount of drying agent and figure out the codes.

Squeaky Clean 10/21/2019
We owned a 2 year-old high quality brand dishwasher and I did not favor replacing it. On the other hand, my spouse really wanted a quieter dishwasher. We decided on the Bosch. Sure, it was quiet just like expected. But the really surprising bonus was that the dishes were significantly cleaner. They absolutely sparkle - that was a shocker. Great job Bosch.

We've had this dishwasher for a few months now and we've had the chance to wash some oversized things and some delicate things. We use the dishwasher about 3 times per week.
First off, Bosch customer service has been stellar. Even before we received the dishwasher they called and offered to set up an installation appointment with a local install contractor. We didn't need it but it was a nice touch.
After it was installed they followed up to see how we liked it and went so far as to send a care package with a few dishwashing goodies inside.
I did the installation myself. I have to say, removing the old dishwasher was harder than installing the Bosch.
Installation was straightforward. The instructions are well illustrated and easy to understand. This model has the controls on the top edge of the door. I was a little unsure if the controls were to stick out past the edge of the countertop or be hidden under the edge. It became obvious as soon as I moved the machine into place the controls are hidden under the edge of the counter.
Two things really stand out about this dishwasher. One, it's quiet when it's running. Really quiet. Like you can barely hear it when you're standing right in front of it quiet. Mostly you hear water sounds. I'm sure that's why Bosch incorporated the red light that shines on the floor under the right corner...so you'll know it's on.
Two, the inside is cavernous. It would take us (just two) a week of meals to fill this thing. It can be configured and reconfigured various ways to hold a lot of dirty dishes of various shapes and sizes. There are 3 racks and the middle one can be raised/lowered to accomadate all types of dishware.
We've ran it completely full and not so full, with "normal" stuff like pots and pans and plates and bowls and with odd shaped/sized stuff like grill racks. It cleans everything completely. We have yet to find an item that did not come completely clean. No dried on food on pots/pans/plates and no glassware with little bits of grit and residue. Everything comes out spotless first time, everytime.
We haven't tried all the settings available on it. The normal setting seems to work fine for us so that's generally where we leave it. I have tried the "Crystal Dry" setting. That setting is supposed to remove all water, even from the edges/rims of plastic items that normally collect water. I can't honestly say that it removed all the water but it was close. There were a few pieces of plastic that still had very small amounts of water on the edge once the cycle was completed. Far, far less than usual. In general I'd say it works as advertised.
Operating the controls are simple. Press the "On/Off" button, select your cycle and other options, press "Start" and close the door. You should see the red light shining on the floor under the right hand corner. If it's flashing or not on, open the door and press "Start" again until it beeps. Close the door within 3 seconds and you should be good. Just watch for the solid red light.
Cleaning the filter is easy. And if you run out of rinsing agent, it'll tell you. Everything is very well thought out.
One other thing that was very important to us. It's Made in the USA.
As nice as it is, you know it can't be perfect. The only downside we've come across is the stainless finish. It is HARD to keep clean. This thing must have a fingerprint magnet inside because it attracts fingerprints and smudges like nothing I've ever seen. It comes clean easily enough with minimal effort but it's a constant job. We've kind of learned to just tolerate the fingerprints and smudges now more so than when it was new.
Obviously we're very pleased with the Bosch. It's a premium dishwasher that does a premium job. We're very happy to have it in our kitchen. We have our eye on a gas cooktop next!

I was super excited to get my new dishwasher. The excitement didnt last long. This new dishwasher was supposed to dry plastics better which it would do if they didnt flip over in the dishwasher and end up with standing water. The design of the dishwasher makes it very hard to load a full Sunday dinner load for a family of 4. It does clean better than my old dishwasher. I just wish I could load a full load of dishes into it.

I am coming off a mid to high end kitchen aid which was very disappointing. It never seemed to work right and they ultimately wanted to charge me to keep looking at it. I went with the kitchen aid for the heated drying and self cleaning filter. In the end was not using the drying function at all because it just baked food onto the dishes and wiching that I could manually clean the filter because the dishwasher smelled. Enter the Bosch! What a difference. Dishes that I would never even put in my kitchen aid come clean. I am confident that I can wash anything in the Bosch. It holds a lot more as well with the third rack. And it dries my dishes and plastic ware much better than the kitchen aid ever did. Could not be happier!

I've used a lot of dishwashers over the years but I never gave Bosche a try and now I'm kicking myself. The higher price tag always scared me away from this brand but this is definitely one of those instances where you get what you pay for. First of all I love the clean look with the buttons hidden on the top of the door, and the LED laser status light on the floor was a genius idea. You can see that it's still running from across a large room and the reason that's important is because this unit is ridiculously quiet. I'm talking so quiet that initially we thought it wasn't working the first time we used it because it's dead silent. I've never seen a washer this silent before. I will admit that it took a bit too get used to the controls but once we figured it out it was a breeze. Not only does it look great and doesn't make a sound but it's actuality a darn good washer. For years my wife has begged me to get a washer that will actually do a good job cleaning dishes and this washer has done an amazing job. I love how it makes the most of all the space with the 3 racks with all the adjustable pieces. I'f you're on the fence about spending the cash on this washer, do not worry. Your money will be well spent.
