Broke within 2 years

The microwave blew a circuit in my kitchen over night, and I could not reset it until I unplugged the microwave. When I plugged it back in, it sparked and since then it's been completely dead. The service call will quickly add up to close to the value of the microwave without parts, and none of the fee can be applied to a new purchase. I'm very frustrated and will replaces the microwave with a product by a different maker. I had originally planned to successively replace my GE appliances with Bosch but will no longer do so.

Very bad experience. Only used about a year, the power will be off (circuit breaker will be tripped.), as microwave door is closed. Called Bosch service, the response is " It needs to charge $128 to check the problem."

I love this microwave. It does a great job and it's nice and quiet. The only thing I would change is that the start button doesn't stand out at all, so it takes me an extra second to read the buttons.

Terrible microwave

Bought our new construction home about 1 year ago with all new Bosch appliances installed and microwave already broke. Of course the warrenty is only for a year. I did do some research on Bosch appliances and seems like the reviews are all pretty terrible. I will be changing the microwave out and will NOT be using Bosch again.

The screen does not indicate that something is in the microwave so it's easy to forget about what you've just warmed up or cooked. The display screen print is small and dim, difficult to read. This model does not have the one touch feature such as pressing "1" and start for one minute. You need to enter the zeros. Due to size constraints this was the only Bosch that would fit. I suspect the better more expensive models have the bells and whistles I'm missing.

Pretty Good Microwave

This is a pretty nice microwave oven. Installation was easy, especially with the hole template provided. Operates exactly as the manual says. No surprises. I like the capacity and easy of use. The control/operation pad is black and writing pretty small. But once I had a feel for where the start/reheat/light, etc buttons were positioned on the pad, the rest is history. A bit pricy but love the look with the stove.

It is hard to read the access panel because there is no light behind the numbers. The clock is bright but if you want to press numbers on the screen....it is hard to see them. I suggest a lit panel at least when you open the microwave door.

Easy to use and powerful

I bought this microwave to replace an existing under counter Bosch. I had to choose the mod er l to fit the existing space in recently installed custom cabinets. The previous microwave was a 500 series but the new 500 was just slightly too big. The 300 fit perfectly but has fewer features. It does perform very well and the new lighting is very good and the vent fan is great. I am happy with the model but wish all models for under cabinet were standard sizes. That is the only complaint but I am glad I could at least replace with a Bosch. I am very impressed with the quality of all their appliances.

Door is loud

Bought this unit in December, and like it very much. Works very well but found numbers are very small to read. The reason I didn't give this (5) is the door is very loud to close. Didn't notice when we looked at the demo at the store but it is LOUD to close. Works very well so we will keep it. I contacted cus/service at Bosch but they "never had any complaints" on this issue.

Does not have any of the normal features we've been accustomed to, like no express minutes, very quite beep with no level adjustment, very small and light printing on the key pad, can't see it without the room light on. Door makes loud chinzy bang went you close it. Light has no night light feature. Timer beep shuts off after a few short minutes. We are not happy with it. Other wise it works great.

Unit came with my new home. It is attractive and has nice features and operates in an easy to use fashion. Only negative I have is the control screen is very dark and it is very hard to see the writing on the control screen. Even with all the kitchen lights on, it is very hard to see the controls.

I love having the microwave above our new Bosch induction range. The best part is that it comes with a two-speed fan in the bottom of the microwave. I love the light as a night light. I have found this model very user friendly with the panel selections described precisely of what type of heating or cooking we need to do.

printing too small and hard to read, beeper is too quiet with no adjustments to make it louder, light is bright but no adjustments to turn it down to use as a night lite in the kitchen for example, door makes real loud cheap tinny sound when you shut it. Other wise it works good!!

I've had it for about 1 year. It looks great. It works. You can't use it in the dark. The key pad is not lit and the print size on the buttons is soooo small. You have to turn on the kitchen light to see what to do. The LED lights in the bottom are very bright. Nice to have 2 speed exhaust because high speed is pretty loud. This is the 2nd unit. The first unit was crushed inside the box and had to be return.

I bought this microwave a month ago to go with my complete Bosch Kitchen appliance set. Very nice looking microwave that heats well and has good power but there are a few definite weaknesses in the design. The vent has two speeds - loud & louder - I can't stand to run the vent (even on low) as it drowns out any conversation or TV in the house! Although the vent noise is very loud, the actual vent suction is very weak on both settings and steam goes straight up rather than sucked under the unit into the filter area. Additionally, the door closes with a very loud bang - I would have hoped for a much quieter closing from Bosch.

Like another reviewer below, we bought this microwave to match our new Bosch gas range (LOVE the range.) Salesman said the stainless steel would match the range, which it does. The micro works just fine, heats quickly and has a straightforward interface, without a lot of complicated modes. All good. That said, we do have some complaints on the design. Foremost, the control panel has small white letters on a shiny black background, and does NOT light up, making it difficult to read. A backlight would be a huge improvement. The downlight on the bottom (to illuminate range top) is LED, which is modern and good. But it's cool LED light, with only one brightness level. A warmer light with maybe a couple of brightness settings (like the old microwave we replaced) would bring this up to 4 or 4 1/2 stars.

Noisy fan ...keypad difficult to read in dim light

We bought this microwave to match our new Bosch slide in gas range. It's powerful and heats fast but has two drawbacks.... vent fan has two speeds. Loud and louder.. there is no fan speed that is quiet.. find I hardly use the fan because of this. Also the keypad is difficult to see unless the overhead kitchen light is turned on in mornings and evenings. I wished I could have seen this microwave on display and running so I could have found out these problems. Just have to live with it now but would not recommend this to a friend.

Been using for 3 months and 2 holidays - yes, it is a powerful microwave. end of story. for all the panache and cost behind bosch name, there could be a few more small things such as lighted keypad when fumbling for the light button in the dark, and sensor cooking - for example when choosing "reheat" get fixed time and power assumptions. Door is flimsy, and if left open a light comes on dimly and the unit emits a buzz sound. also, at end of power cycle there is kind of a sparking-popping sound. i registered the unit in case it needs servicing-am hoping for the best.
