we replaced our 14 year old JennAir. this one takes much longer to heat oven. The burners are miss placed should one large and one small in back and in front. controls change when cleaning control panel.

We had to upgrade, as our old model (2005, I think) died. The design on the old one is much nicer - it had a lip to cover the gap between oven and counter, a smooth face with more subtle knobs (the new ones are huge). I also feel like the new model is harder to wipe down - every time you wipe over the touchscreen, it thinks you're pushing buttons, and it is awkward to wipe around the large knobs. Other than that, it works fine (though you'd think it could preheat a little faster for such an expensive oven). We would not have chosen it (design-wise), except we had to get a slide-in downdraft and there is just this one and kitchen aid. It is also deeper so it sticks out of our island and we will have to get the granite cut to fit it.

Because the previous range had a downdraft ventilation and was situated on an island on the open side of the kitchen, there was no option to revert to a standard (much cheaper) range. This was a very expensive stove, but the time, trouble, and expense of putting in a regular slide-in stove and a ceiling mount cooktop hood would have been just as much. The new stove appears to be adequate, thought the glass cooktop is difficult to keep really clean. There have been quirks and learnings - as there are with everything new - but it seems to be functioning within appropriate standards. I would have preferred a gas range, but there are no gas lines in this neighborhood.

I bought this down draft range oven last year. It has a "steam cleaning" which is a joke! It does NOT clean and is driving me crazy, They tell you not to use any oven cleaner but you can scrape it out with the piece of plastic they give you for that purpose! I don't know who designed this thing but they don't cook OR clean! The range top has a small groove around the edge that catches EVERTHING and is difficult to clean out. The controls are on the stove top and every time I go to wipe off the top, knobs etc. it turns something on and beeps it's head off - another really bad design feature. I had an appliance serviceman come out on warranty and he had to adjust the oven temp 20 degrees and fix a burner that wais aptly named as it burned everything even when set to "ultra low". It looks like he fixed that problem and I'm hoping the oven is more reliable now. However, when I told him about the cleaning deficiencies he said he hears that all the time.

We had our previous Jenn- air with the drop in units for grilling etc. for 32 years. Only complaint was the small oven. Love the huge oven on this unit. I'm still adjusting to the new cook top. However, I find the control pad for the oven, timer and such to be to sensitive, with a slight brush something beeps and you have to reset temperature or timer. The timer alert could also be a bit louder, it's difficult to hear if not in the kitchen. We look forward to this unit lasting as long with no fuss like the previous one.

Purchased this item last month to replace 30 year old Jenn Air which was original to our home. Previous oven was very dependable and with original downdraft ducting in our home, we were locked into a 2nd downdraft style oven. I would suggest to Jenn Air that they update the user manual since several accessory items were no longer available when I spoke with the customer service folks. I also would suggest that they include a package of the countertop cleaner with scraper as well as the stainless steel cleaner with the stove as it would introduce the customer to your accessory products and increase the likelihood that we would continue to Jenn Air cleaning products. Also, I was not happy with the trim kit which was an additional $78.00 since the fit / finish was poor and did not fully extend to the front of the range. Retrofit of new stove required more countertop cutting / modification than I had realized and resulted in the unit sticking out an additional 1.5 inches. In hindsight, I checked and found out that the Kitchen - Aid downdraft oven would have been approximately 1 inch less in depth. Future purchasers would be wise to measure the depth of their existing unit to compare with the Jenn Air Products to avoid similar surprises.

We purchased this downdraft range to replace a 31 year old Jenn Air which we really liked. The only reason I didn't rate this unit excellent is because installation was difficult. This ranges downdraft blower was impossible to hook up to our existing ducting without completely redoing our island and ducting. We had to purchase a downdraft duct-free kit to the tune of $248 to install this range. The installation of this kit was even difficult because the space under the range is very limited and the factory installers had never installed one of these kits. Now that is installed the filter is a challenge to change. Jenn Air obviously did not design their new units to hook up to their previous downdraft ranges ducting or make alternative blower designs to do so. The quality and value rating I gave this unit is premature because we haven't had it long enough for a true evaluation. So far so good. We did purchase the extended warranty because appliances, no matter the brand, today are not of the quality they used to be.

Only one of a few to offer down draft venting, which on islands or "L" without overhead vent is very desirable, and only reason we bought it. Con....almost requires the ventilation kit which vents range under neath. Blows back into room and is very noisy compared to venting outside, which couldn't be done according to installer due to hose size differences. Heat control knobs are on top, which is very difficult to clean because grease splatters all over them. Need to be on angle.

Cook food. Easy to clean top, all one flat surface. We purchased our house with a Genn-Air stove in it. We upgraded to a new Genn-air stove (the old one was about ten years old) because we wanted a larger oven. twenty years later the stove started having burner issues. Now we have our current Genn-Air stove (ceramic glass cook top). My one complaint is that all three stoves have the duct ventin through the floor in a different location causing a lot of extra work and cost for each upgrade.
